LOHAS Magazine Feature

Several weeks ago one of our photos on Flickr received a comment from Lily, who is an editor for LOHAS magazine in China, asking us if we were interested in being featured in an article highlighting green weddings. LOHAS is an acronym for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability. After we received some more information from Lily, Michael, Stacey and I talked and decided to go for it! We were sent 18 questions to fill out and were requested to send about 50 images from our wedding, our day after shoot, and a few Michael and I took during during the preparations phase.

Stacey received scans of the feature, and they used a photo in another feature! Here are the images I ripped from Stacey’s site…if you want to see larger versions, please visit her post. Just click on those images to enlarge.

We’ll be receiving our copies sometime soon and I’ll take photos of magazine then.

Thank you Lily!

I wanted to share some more photos of the fair while I’m working on a deadline for tomorrow.

Happy Labor Day!

Here are a few images from The Great Allentown Fair, which we attended Saturday late afternoon/early evening. We actually did things besides sitting around drinking copious amounts of absinthe all weekend!

Bon Weekend.

I know it’s Thursday and all, but we’re bypassing our annual trek to Dragon*Con and getting on a plane this afternoon to head up to Pennsylvania to see old friends. We’re very excited as it’s been a long time since we last saw them.

Custom order for Mari

I just finished this custom order for a friend in England and I’m working on another order to complete an ensemble purchased a while back. I must admit that I’ve fallen hard for this piece and I hope she does as well…when she finally receives it!

Saran Wrap Marie Antoinette Style Wigs

Designer Kate Cusack designed these for Tiffany’s 2002 Mother’s Day window displays for their flagship store at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in Manhattan. I thought it was made from synthetic hair fibers at first.

Bon Weekend – Happy Blogiversary!

I’m definitely in the celebratory mood as this week was my one year blogiversary! I made my first post was on August 23rd, 2009, and I honestly wasn’t sure I would make it this far.

I’m slowly working on adding small design elements (and possibly another color) to the place. It reflects the style we created during our wedding planning process, and this has been an outlet to share our collaborations. I find that to be very pleasing. 🙂

Joule Thief Picture Light

I bought this light bulb hologram at the hologram shop during my first visit to Amsterdam. It’s been stored for a long time as it hasn’t been displayed very well because it needs a light source to bring out the image. Michael wanted it in his shop over the computer, so he made this little Joule Thief Picture Light to do the job. After he took these photos, he added a switch that allows him to turn the light on and off. The first is with the lights turned up in the room, and the second is when they’re quite low.
