New Necklace

I finished this late last night. It’s made from blue tie silk and is backed with a beautiful black linen. I found close to a yard in the remnant bin at Hancock’s and decided to give my coutil a break. It has three organza flowers mounted on blue glitter vinyl and are centered with Swarovski crystals in White Opal. I strung the glass pearl beads and attached them to a vintage sterling chain, which I broke apart. The base also has three ‘necklaces’ with black contrast stitching and small White Opal Swarovski crystals. I’m using a new tie system in the back. I’ve been using a single double-faced satin ribbon looped the through both grommets, but have change it to two ribbons looped through each grommet.

Finished!

I posted a progress shot of this a while back. My goodness it’s taken a while, but I’m finally finished! I haven’t listed this on Etsy yet, as I need to take more photos.

I’m looking forward to making more pieces in this style and another I’m about to finish. Stay tuned!

eta – I guess I could add that I hand strung the beads and that’s a vintage brooch in the center of the flower. It’s adorned with dark teal metallic leaves with contrasting machine stitched detailing, and ties with two double-faced satin ribbons.

Custom order for Mari

I just finished this custom order for a friend in England and I’m working on another order to complete an ensemble purchased a while back. I must admit that I’ve fallen hard for this piece and I hope she does as well…when she finally receives it!

Looks like I need to reshoot some of the new pieces, but in the meantime, I did get one uploaded to Etsy…

The rewards of August…

Knowing that the beauty of autumn is just around the corner. Lindsey created a gorgeous complilation of muted oranges and golds on her website, which I can’t stop staring at! I can see why it inspired her to create this Etsy treasury.

You know how much I think you rock lady!

A way to say ‘Thank You’.

I’m very excited that I had a customer return for a second purchase the other day. I have been thinking about ways to thank customers for repeated business, even my friends! One was to make something small, like a pin, and drop it in the box. I decided to go with a gift certificate instead. It can be given to a friend or family member and I have written the Esty member name on the back to be referenced for discount.

I hope this will be adequate in expressing my appreciation.

Treasury

I love waking up in the morning to an email telling me I’ve been featured in a Etsy Treasury. Thank you Prisha, I’m honored to have been included!

Custom wrist cuff.

I just finished this and I’m waiting to see if I can meet with the buyer tonight for a final fitting. This is a wrist cuff made from vinyl and backed with remnant upholstery fabric, leftover from a project we did for my mother. All cuffs with vinyl bands are backed with fabric. It is detailed with Swarovski rhinestones and closes with two heavy duty snaps. It is a recreation of a piece she saw at the Lowcountry Artist Market while it was on hold for someone else. It sold and I told her I could recreate the look.
