I tried to spend the weekend working on new pieces for the upcoming Lowcountry Artist Market, but I’m encountering some unexpected issues but I’m going to push ahead.
We stopped by one of the local antique malls to check if they’d gotten in some new jewelry pieces (that I’m using in a few wrist cuffs) and we found this gorgeous pair of milk glass lamp bases. Of course, now I want them to flank the sides of the bed and not mount the gooseneck lamps (whenever we get them finished!).
Michael is going to clean and rewire them and I need to start my search for the perfect lamp shades. I ultimately want a foiled lined interior, something like this awesome DIY shade. Part of me would like to have lining color, similar to this Heathfield oval silk lined shade:
If anyone can help me find colored metallic adhesive backed vinyl, I’d be greatly appreciative. My Google-Fu has not been as successful.
Earlier this year I fell in love with the hexagonal trays featured in the image below for the Arianne Organic Duvet Cover & Sham in the Pottery Barn catalogue and wanted to incorporate something like them for the bedside stools. I’ve been scouring the intarwebs trying to find them, but haven’t. I want to believe they’re Jonathan Adler trays, but I haven’t found any that are the two-toned. Even if we did find them on his site there is no way we could afford a pair anytime soon.

We stumbled upon these two wooden trays a couple weeks back for $5.99 for the pair. I couldn’t get them into our cart fast enough! We’re going to strip and paint them. I don’t know if we’ll try the ‘distressed’ edges look. At the rate my mind changes, anything is likely!
We have several more projects to start, such as the cool little light fixture we found to go over mom’s bathtub. It needs a lot of work but I think it will be perfect in the space. Her bathroom is pretty vanilla and she’s desperate for something that will encourage her to spend more time soaking in the awesome tub, now that she can get in it. We’re only too happy to help her!
I hope everyone has a fabulous week. I’m going to predict this week will be a little light on posts as I have so, so much to do!
