*Chirp, chirp*

Where does the time go when one is busy and doesn’t have much to say? Hey, it goes almost two weeks since a post.

I’m heading out to Atlanta Friday morning to attend the Inman Park Festival. We (our seriously awesome friends and I) had a booth two years ago and back in 2004, and we’re coming back! It’s one of my favorite spring events and I’m so excited to ‘have an excuse’ to be there this year.

I’m hoping we’re to the same spot (or at least on Edgewood) as two years ago. I love being on the parade route! Oh and, please no rain this year!

Charleston Farmers Market

The 2012 season of the Charleston Farmers Market opened on Saturday. I don’t think we could have asked for a more beautiful day in terms of weather and turnout. We had a blast. Last year was kind of like the first day of high school, only at a school in a new district. Not only were we part of the freshman class but we didn’t know anyone. This year felt like we were returning sophomores, with the day far more relaxed and I think possibly more exciting than last year. That didn’t change that we barely got any sleep the night before and we were so fired up as we were leaving I thought I was going to spend a few hours in the garden… until we started driving home and the exhaustion hit. We totally crashed when we got home.

Michael made some fabulous new stands and while we only used one on Saturday, they’re going to work perfectly for my pillows and bags.

Needless to say, I am so excited and so thankful to be participating again this year!

Bon Weekend – Seriously awesome dyed eggs

I’m always a sucker for new and interesting egg dyeing ideas/techniques and Aunt Peaches has delivered the GOLD! This is so going on my ‘need to do’ list.

Have a safe and fabulous weekend!

Gaps in time

Last week found me scrambling about in preparation for a wicked fast trip to Atlanta. I picked up 15 yards of vinyl (thank goodness for the closet reorg) and now I’m ready to roll with some sassy new bags. I have the Lowcountry Artist Market coming up this Saturday and will have several available for sale! I’ll have some goodies to share this week, so stay tuned!

Paint me a picture

Two new items in the shop today! Recently, I’ve been feeling the urge to paint. I have also been wanting to expand some of our silk screen motifs onto something that could be hung on the walls. I started with these two pieces, combining water color, silk screen and some embroidering. I’m offering these in the shop and will continue to post more pieces as I finish them.

Each image clicks through to they’re respective listings.

Monday, Monday

I’ve whined a time or two about the lack of styling in the photos I take for my pillows and now bags. I started brainstorming last week and decided to try a sheet of MDF for the background. I can use it upstairs until we can give it a permanent home on the wall in the garage and a small area of floor space in which we can stage chairs and small tables to set the products. I’m going to go for white and I think I can finally put this stencil to use!

Hopefully I will be able to start working on this toward the end of the week. Progress photos to come!

I stumbled upon that lovely bit of inspiration while on my daily cruise around Pinterest.

Sneak Peek – Blue sparkle dragon bag

I was thinking that I would post this on Monday, but it got the better of me. I cannot resist the sparkle vinyl! This and the manatee tote are now live at the Happy Heathen shop!

Monday, Monday

I’m very excited to share this new piece as it is the prototype for a new line in the shop. It will be available next week!

Pewter vinyl with a silk screened manatee and blue stitched lines. It is lined with a heavy linen/cotton blend fabric. The chain handles are upcycled from an old bag. The vinyl has an irridescent-like sheen to it so the manatee also changes color a bit.

I’m finishing another bag and will be in mostly full production with those and some other new items next week!

Delve into 2012 – DIY

When I mentioned in last week’s 2011 review that the breakfast nook was pretty much good to go, I totally forgot to mention this lovely DIY idea for our chairs.

I pinned this upholstered chair tutorial from Apartment Therapy a while back. I love the basic ivory cushions we have on them now, but a pop of green/orange/red on the top with some padding would be utterly delicious!

Constellation Light Tutorial on Offbeat Home

I would like to send out a big ‘Thank You!’ to Cat and Offbeat Home for sharing our constellation light tutorial today!
